Standing in water, I had a leak in my right boot. However, I have ridden for up to two hours in a pouring rain that drove some car drivers off the road and my feet stayed mostly dry. I say mostly because, I don't think these boots are leather, as advertised. I believe my feet stayed mostly dry because the uppers appear to be a high quality leather like material, that may breathe some, but not like a real leather boot. There may be some leather trim on the boot, but the upper on the boot I have is definitely not. I contacted the company to verify what the upper material is. The ads on the company website and here on Amazon indicate that the uppers are "top quality leather uppers" and "waterproof leather uppers." I have not received a reply from the company responding to my email communication. So I did my own tests. These are simple tests - google "real leather" to get some suggestions (e.g. scratch, fold, sniff and burn tests). These boots tested as a synthetic upper. So I down-rated the boots because of what I consider a misrepresentation of the product. Now, for the boots themselves, I actually like them. In fact, I have all Vega boots and three of their helmets, as they are excellent value for the price. As I said above, the boots kept my feet dry, even in a huge downpour. So I bought a pair for my wife. She wears them for safety reasons, but is not fond of them because they make her feet hot - another indication that these are not real leather. So they also failed the "spouse" test. The boots do not feel uncomfortable to me because I do not have hot or sweaty feet, but I can tell that they are warmer than other boots I have. So if you do not have a problem with hot feet, then these would likely work for you. The construction quality is good. The fit is okay, but since my feet run narrow, I had to buy a large size to get the length I needed, and then use an insert to get rid of the sloppiness. However, they are quite comfortable now, and I have hiked with them on for up to a mile on a recent road trip, but would recommend other footwear if you are planning to walk a lot. The ease of getting them on and off is greatly enhanced with their dual zipper system. It works well. All in all, I am happy with my purchase and the service from Jafrum in receiving both pairs in a timely fashion, but I am not impressed with what I believe to be the misrepresentation of the construction materials. I have worn them 8 days in a row and plan to use them on my next trip, so despite my reservations, I recommend them with the reservations stated above.

Ok, just ignore that $75 list price. Either that's a misprint or someone ingested a controlled substance while typing. These gloves might save you some scraped knuckles or worse while exercising your inner mechanic. They sell just about everywhere for around 20 bucks and they are both functional and add a layer of safety to your project. Wait until they are on special at $15 on Amazon and you'll save both your knuckles and your wallet.
